Roscrea Rugby Club was the venue for the 5th round of the Offaly Road Running Series, hosted by Ballyskenach AC. 351 people managed to complete the 5k with a whopping 73 people representing the host club on the night. Local man, Liam Brady (Tullamore Harriers) was a clear winner as he lead the race from start to finish and looked comfortable, winning in a time of 15:53. With half a mile remaining 3 runners were competing for 2nd spot. Mick Fogarty of Ferbane AC, who was recently crowned champion of the Mullingar “Pat Finnerty Memorial” 5k Road League, finished 2nd in 15:59, with Tom Lupton (Portlaoise AC) 3rd (16:00) & Paul Mitchell (Tullamore Harriers) 4th (16:02). Nadine Donegan followed up her victory in Rhode with another convincing win (18:31) making it a double for Tullamore Harriers on the night. Her teammate Sinead Rigney took 2nd (19:09) holding off the challenge from Thurle Croke’s Jacqueline Hughes (19:24).
