Marian Geraghty 10k /5k Road Races
The village of Mountbolus was a sea of colour last Friday evening with the large number of athletes taking part in the Offaly 10k Road Race championship which was incorporated with the Marian Geraghty 10k road race. A fun run 5k also attracted a good number of runners and walkers. The glorious sunshine contributed to the wonderful atmosphere in the village. The race was hosted by the newely formed Kilcormac Killoughey AC with huge contribution from lots of locals and the Marion Geraghty race committee.
A total of 250 crossed the finish line in the 10k and 117 in the 5k.
Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to all involved in a superbly well organised event from start to finish.
Tullamore Harriers Paul Mitchell and Pauline Curley were 1st male and female with Dylan Keegan(Templeogue AC) and Sinead Rigney (Tullamore Harriers) in 2nd places. Ferbane AC athletes Paul Buckley and lisa Barrett took 3rd places.
